Amazon MCP servers for sellers: what each one reads and changes
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is how Claude, ChatGPT and other assistants call outside tools. "Amazon MCP" means several different things: Amazon now runs two MCP servers of its own for sellers and advertisers, AWS runs one for developers, and independent tools like AgentXray run their own. They do not overlap as much as the name suggests. This page lists what each one reads, whether it can change anything on Amazon, where it works and who can use it, each from its maker's own page.

Which one do you need?
- You sell in Amazon's U.S. stores and want Seller Central inside Claude, with actions you approve. Amazon's Selling Partner plugin is the direct route.
- You are an Amazon Ads partner and want an assistant to build and manage campaigns through the Ads API. The Amazon Ads MCP Server is built for that.
- You want profit after every Amazon fee and your product cost, ads judged on what they earned rather than on ACoS, or marketplaces outside the U.S. That is what AgentXray measures, from your own settlement lines.

Amazon Account Health rating 232 (GREAT), checked 2026-10-19. 1 thing needs attention: fix 1 error-level listing issue — it stops DEMO-SPICE-RACK from being bought.
The rating is Amazon's own number. AgentXray's bookkeeping checks (settlement matching, Buy Box) are returned beside it and never turn into "your account needs attention".
Did Amazon receive everything I sent?

A shipment closed short is Amazon's record, not proof of a loss — the assistant says to check it in Seller Central before opening a claim.

Demo - Auto loses $392.96 after product cost: CPC $1.21 against an affordable $0.78. A draft moves the close-match bid from $1.35 to $0.77, the break-even CPC. It waits in AgentXray — nothing reaches Amazon until you approve it.

What is an Amazon MCP server?
A server that lets an AI assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT call tools over the Model Context Protocol. For Amazon sellers that means tools that read Seller Central or Amazon Ads data, and sometimes change it.
Is there an official Amazon MCP server for sellers?
Two. The Amazon Ads MCP Server (open beta since February 2026, for Amazon Ads partners with API credentials) and the Amazon Selling Partner plugin, which brings Seller Central into Claude in beta for sellers in Amazon's U.S. stores.
Can I use more than one at the same time?
Yes. Claude and ChatGPT accept several connectors at once; each one only sees the account you authorised for it.
Does an MCP server change my Amazon account on its own?
Depends on the server. Amazon's Selling Partner plugin asks for human approval on actions; the Amazon Ads MCP Server can create, update and delete campaigns through the API; AgentXray only files drafts that a person approves in the browser.
