Answer · AgentXray team

VAT for Amazon FBA sellers in the EU requires registration in any country where they hold inventory. Sellers must charge VAT based on the buyer's location for cross-border sales, and since July 2021, they can use the One-Stop Shop (OSS) to report VAT from one member state if their sales exceed the EU-wide threshold of €10,000. However, sales from stock located in the seller's home country to buyers in that same country are considered domestic sales and do not qualify for OSS. Sellers must submit periodic VAT returns detailing their sales and VAT collected, and they are responsible for compliance with local VAT laws. Amazon's Marketplace Tax Collection program can assist with VAT collection, but sellers must ensure they meet all regulatory requirements. For more details, you can refer to the VAT page and the OSS page.
