Amazon's invitation-only portal for first-party (1P) suppliers who sell to Amazon at wholesale. Distinct from Seller Central, which serves third-party (3P) sellers.
Vendor Central is an invitation-only platform for first-party (1P) suppliers who sell products to Amazon at wholesale prices, distinct from Seller Central, which caters to third-party (3P) sellers. In the EU, Vendor Central allows suppliers to manage purchase orders, track inventory levels, and access sales data across multiple marketplaces, including DE, FR, IT, ES, and UK. Vendors can benefit from promotional opportunities through Amazon Marketing Services, which can increase product visibility. However, the trade-off includes relinquishing control over pricing and inventory management, as Amazon sets these parameters. Vendors must also adhere to specific compliance requirements, such as the Vendor Terms of Service, which outlines obligations regarding product quality and delivery timelines. Payment terms typically involve net 30 to net 90 days, depending on the agreement, impacting cash flow. Additionally, vendors can utilize tools like the Vendor Performance Dashboard to monitor key metrics, including Order Defect Rate and On-Time Delivery Rate, which matters for maintaining a positive relationship with Amazon.
